Week 30 - Are we there yet?

Whew, baby... literally. I am growing, or rather I should say Zoey is growing. My stomach has doubled, she is kicking and moving like a champ in there... sometimes a bit much when she punches "down there". I am having more back pain, trouble bending down to put on sneakers, getting out of bed is a chore (and I'm doing this QUITE often - with the amount of bathroom trips I take every night). Overall though, I still feel pretty good but I can feel myself losing some of that extra steam I gained in the second trimester. I honestly can't believe I'm going to be meeting baby Zoey in about 9 weeks (actually 8 weeks or sooner since I am writing this on Friday - the start of week 31). As you can see below, I am huge and I'm not loving this double chin, but knowing I have only gained 7 lbs total at 30 weeks... makes me feel a little better about bouncing back after she is born.

This past week I have completed washing, drying, hanging/folding all the clothes - from the shower and the lovely hand-me-downs from my girls (thank you Arianna & Marsha!!) The hand-me-downs will help tremendously because after sorting everything... I noticed that they fulfilled what was lacking (newborn and 12+ months). The clothes Arianna gave will be wonderful for when Zoey is a little older and Marsha supplied me with the much needed newborn onsies (many long sleeved with hand covers). Most of the clothes from the shower are between 1-6 months but they are ADORABLE. I think people will like seeing the pictures from all the clothes when she's older anyways. I doubt I'll have her looking snazzy the first few weeks :) Clearly, as you can see from the picture of her closet below... this girl is going to be VERY well dressed.

I also spend most of the week going through all the bath stuff, toys, books, etc and organized everything in her closet. Once we get her furniture, I'll transfer some of that into the room and decorate a little. I am definitely "nesting". Plus, I'm almost done with my baby blanket, so excited to finish it. Not only is Zoey going to be the best dressed but she is going to be covered with LOVE. Arianna also sent over a gorgeous blanket that is EXTREMELY advanced and fits the theme SO well... see the photo below. It's half ocean and half starry sky plus it's super soft. She also picked out the perfect baby book, "Ocean Meets Sky"... so specific but she manages to find something that fit both!

Lastly, I finished up the thank you cards from the shower, finally. I apologize to everyone for it taking so long... I spent extra time on them though... so hopefully everyone will appreciate that. I was so greatful for the love that was spread to my little one... she is very lucky to have such wonderful people in her life. I can't wait to bring her up to meet everyone in Connecticut - hoping to do so for that trip in May! In the meantime, I'm still "cooking" and hopefully we can get through the holidays coming up without any snags. Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

36 & 37 weeks - Let the countdown begin!

Ahhh... so much has happened. I can't believe I've been so negligent about the blog!! First thing is first... I have my induction date! We will be heading to the hospital 7 am on Friday, December 27th. I spoke with the doctor and nurse midwife and they confirmed that she could be born either the 27th or 28th depending on how far dilated I am that day. They checked me last Friday and he said I wasn't quite dilated yet but they will continue to monitor the next 2 weeks. If I go in and I am still not dilated, the plan is to give me a magic pill to soften things up, spend a long boring morning/afternoon in the hospital waiting and then they would start me on Pitocin (essentially Oxytocin to get contractions going) either that night or early the next morning. So... if all goes according to that plan, she will probably be born sometime Dec 28th - which is also my Mother-in-law's birthday!! She's excited to potentially share her birthday with her Grandbaby. However,

5 weeks, 5 days

So... this is feeling real now. It's still VERY early and I haven't even had my first ultrasound yet... but I feel very pregnant. My chest is killing me, I can't wear a bra around the house because it's too much. I have some nausea (no vomiting, thankfully) and some aversion to smells - today my husband made this "Chicken Pot Pie" soup and it smelled SOOOO bad, like cat food.  I have to hand it to Chris though, he's being so good about making sure I am comfortable and doing things around the house. I can't imagine doing this without him.  He finally let me tell his mother, I've been dying to for awhile now... but he's so hesitant because of what happened last time. I definitely understand that. I'm reluctant myself. I've only told Ari, Marsha and now my Mother-in-Law. It's hard because the more people you tell, if something goes wrong... it was hard last time to have to let people know. It's better to wait and be 100% tha

11 Weeks!!

Okay, I've been sooo bad with posting. Partly because I have to do this on my phone, and I HATE having to type out long entries this way. I finally gave up and downloaded the Blogger app because I really want this account to be something to share and look back upon. So.... What's been going on?! Well, everything is progressing well. I've been off and on nauseous, boobs are huge and sore, my sense of smell is amazing and I hate the smell of fried πŸ” chicken. No huge cravings but my blood test showed a high level that put me on alert for possibly developing Gestational Diabetes. This means changing things up with my diet... Yay. Avoiding lots of carbs and sugar mostly. Another thing... Because of the prior DVT clot, they have me on Lovenox to thin my blood. It's a fun shot I take every night that burns. My wonderful husband gives it to me. It's annoying but I know it's the best for both the baby and I. Oh, Chris made me amaizing little candles from my Oui Yo
