Week 30 - Are we there yet?

Whew, baby... literally. I am growing, or rather I should say Zoey is growing. My stomach has doubled, she is kicking and moving like a champ in there... sometimes a bit much when she punches "down there". I am having more back pain, trouble bending down to put on sneakers, getting out of bed is a chore (and I'm doing this QUITE often - with the amount of bathroom trips I take every night). Overall though, I still feel pretty good but I can feel myself losing some of that extra steam I gained in the second trimester. I honestly can't believe I'm going to be meeting baby Zoey in about 9 weeks (actually 8 weeks or sooner since I am writing this on Friday - the start of week 31). As you can see below, I am huge and I'm not loving this double chin, but knowing I have only gained 7 lbs total at 30 weeks... makes me feel a little better about bouncing back after she is born.

This past week I have completed washing, drying, hanging/folding all the clothes - from the shower and the lovely hand-me-downs from my girls (thank you Arianna & Marsha!!) The hand-me-downs will help tremendously because after sorting everything... I noticed that they fulfilled what was lacking (newborn and 12+ months). The clothes Arianna gave will be wonderful for when Zoey is a little older and Marsha supplied me with the much needed newborn onsies (many long sleeved with hand covers). Most of the clothes from the shower are between 1-6 months but they are ADORABLE. I think people will like seeing the pictures from all the clothes when she's older anyways. I doubt I'll have her looking snazzy the first few weeks :) Clearly, as you can see from the picture of her closet below... this girl is going to be VERY well dressed.

I also spend most of the week going through all the bath stuff, toys, books, etc and organized everything in her closet. Once we get her furniture, I'll transfer some of that into the room and decorate a little. I am definitely "nesting". Plus, I'm almost done with my baby blanket, so excited to finish it. Not only is Zoey going to be the best dressed but she is going to be covered with LOVE. Arianna also sent over a gorgeous blanket that is EXTREMELY advanced and fits the theme SO well... see the photo below. It's half ocean and half starry sky plus it's super soft. She also picked out the perfect baby book, "Ocean Meets Sky"... so specific but she manages to find something that fit both!

Lastly, I finished up the thank you cards from the shower, finally. I apologize to everyone for it taking so long... I spent extra time on them though... so hopefully everyone will appreciate that. I was so greatful for the love that was spread to my little one... she is very lucky to have such wonderful people in her life. I can't wait to bring her up to meet everyone in Connecticut - hoping to do so for that trip in May! In the meantime, I'm still "cooking" and hopefully we can get through the holidays coming up without any snags. Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

3 Months & COVID-19

The world is chaotic right now... just in time for little Miss Zoey Bear to turn 3 months! It's flying by. Right now she is finding her hands, munching on them, starting to hold onto things and loves to play with her soft books (mostly chew on them). Interacting with her is SO much fun and there is nothing better than to see her smile at you. Chris always melts when she smiles at him, he knows he is in for it! Right now we are in the middle of a new pandemic called COVID-19 (corona virus) and the country is being told to stay away from groups of 10 or more (some parts of the country - like New York - are told to stay indoors except for essentials). It's a strange world out there right now. Luckily, nothing much has changed over here since I am working from home and we barely were going out much anyways (with baby and all). I went to the grocery store to stock up on some food and the aisles were bare... No meats, paper goods, rice, canned goods and very little pasta among othe...

Week 38 - Countdown Begins

Eeek, only 1 more week until Induction date! I can't believe it's coming up so quickly. I am so excited and terrified all at the same time. Part of me is like... "get her out, i'm sore, tired and want to be able to tie my shoes or sneeze without peeing myself!" but another part of me is like... "this means lack of sleep, crying nights and A LOT of work". All I have to do is remind myself that I get to see that little face, the one that's been keeping me company squirming in my belly all these months. She is almost here and ready to meet us. When I think about that, it brings me to tears and I know I am strong enough to handle it. Women have been doing this from the beginning of time and I am not so special. It's time to begin that next chapter, the one where I stop being so selfish and become a better person to raise this little human being who will need my love, guidance and care. I go in for my final Ultrasound today and I am seeing the midwi...

It's Happening....

At ultrasound today and Zoey wasn't moving around like she should, got sent to labor and delivery for monitoring and even though she was looking great.... They decided it was time to start my induction. I'm now laying in the hospital bed, having contractions after my second dose of cryotec was given. This is supposed to soften my cervix, then I can get checked for dilation in a few hours. So yeah, this is happening. I'll try and keep this updated with my labor story as we go. Zoey will probably be here today (seeing as it's 3am) December 21st 2019. 12/21/19
