13 Weeks! 🤗

Yikes, it's been a quick week. At the start, I felt everything was moving as slow as molasses but not this past week.... Which has flown by for some reason.

Things happening:

1. Saw the Gestational Diabetes nurse, I had a higher than normal A1C in my blood work so the OBGYN referred me to this clinic to start monitoring my blood glucose numbers. I got quite an earful on how I should be changing my eating habits and checking my levels (finger pricking) 4x a day. Fun, fun! I went grocery shopping and it cost me double what I normally pay (and less things Chris will even eat) which was a bummer. Hopefully I can manage to maintain it so they don't have to put me on insulin. Sometimes, even if you do your best, it's inevitable and the placenta and hormones cause so many issues, it's needed no matter how healthy you are eating.

2. No more Nausea!

3. My Marsha Bear had her little girl ❤️ and I can't wait to meet her in person.

4. OBGYN lost my blood work for the NIPT test and asked me to come back and draw more, which will also be delaying the reveal for if I'm having a boy or a girl. Patience.... Not my virtue.

5. Linus has a sore mouth on one side, vet gave him pain meds and antibiotics, thankfully! He's been so miserable (see pic of him snuggling with Daddy below)

6. While shopping with my lovely Mother in Law (Christine), we came across these baby shampoo line called "Zoey" spelled the same way we'd picked for a girl name. We think it's a sign. :)

I guess that's it! I'll be back next week with hopefully the exciting news of.. girl or boy!

Weeks 26 & 27 - Moving

It's catch up time again! Why has it been so long? Well, we moved! I am completely exhausted. probably not the best time to move... being pregnant and all... but it made so much sense. We moved out of our fancy 1 bedroom in Charlotte, NC (with the granite counters, hardwood, fancy water/ice dispenser fridge, etc) and into a 2 bedroom in Lake Wylie, SC (with less upgrades but more room and privacy). This place is only 15 minutes from our old place in Charlotte and is on the 1st floor - perfect for taking out 2 dogs and hauling around a newborn baby. It had a wonderful view of the lake and woods from our back porch and having 2 bathrooms is key when pregnant and kicking your husband out of his "man cave" (a.k.a. bathroom) when you have a baby sitting on your bladder 24/7. I'm also really excited to have a place for Zoey, her own nursery/bedroom that we can decorate and make special for her. My nesting is kicking in full time and I've been non-stop unpacking and putt...

11 Weeks!!

Okay, I've been sooo bad with posting. Partly because I have to do this on my phone, and I HATE having to type out long entries this way. I finally gave up and downloaded the Blogger app because I really want this account to be something to share and look back upon. So.... What's been going on?! Well, everything is progressing well. I've been off and on nauseous, boobs are huge and sore, my sense of smell is amazing and I hate the smell of fried 🐔 chicken. No huge cravings but my blood test showed a high level that put me on alert for possibly developing Gestational Diabetes. This means changing things up with my diet... Yay. Avoiding lots of carbs and sugar mostly. Another thing... Because of the prior DVT clot, they have me on Lovenox to thin my blood. It's a fun shot I take every night that burns. My wonderful husband gives it to me. It's annoying but I know it's the best for both the baby and I. Oh, Chris made me amaizing little candles from my Oui Yo...

36 & 37 weeks - Let the countdown begin!

Ahhh... so much has happened. I can't believe I've been so negligent about the blog!! First thing is first... I have my induction date! We will be heading to the hospital 7 am on Friday, December 27th. I spoke with the doctor and nurse midwife and they confirmed that she could be born either the 27th or 28th depending on how far dilated I am that day. They checked me last Friday and he said I wasn't quite dilated yet but they will continue to monitor the next 2 weeks. If I go in and I am still not dilated, the plan is to give me a magic pill to soften things up, spend a long boring morning/afternoon in the hospital waiting and then they would start me on Pitocin (essentially Oxytocin to get contractions going) either that night or early the next morning. So... if all goes according to that plan, she will probably be born sometime Dec 28th - which is also my Mother-in-law's birthday!! She's excited to potentially share her birthday with her Grandbaby. However, ...
