13 Weeks! 🤗

Yikes, it's been a quick week. At the start, I felt everything was moving as slow as molasses but not this past week.... Which has flown by for some reason.

Things happening:

1. Saw the Gestational Diabetes nurse, I had a higher than normal A1C in my blood work so the OBGYN referred me to this clinic to start monitoring my blood glucose numbers. I got quite an earful on how I should be changing my eating habits and checking my levels (finger pricking) 4x a day. Fun, fun! I went grocery shopping and it cost me double what I normally pay (and less things Chris will even eat) which was a bummer. Hopefully I can manage to maintain it so they don't have to put me on insulin. Sometimes, even if you do your best, it's inevitable and the placenta and hormones cause so many issues, it's needed no matter how healthy you are eating.

2. No more Nausea!

3. My Marsha Bear had her little girl ❤️ and I can't wait to meet her in person.

4. OBGYN lost my blood work for the NIPT test and asked me to come back and draw more, which will also be delaying the reveal for if I'm having a boy or a girl. Patience.... Not my virtue.

5. Linus has a sore mouth on one side, vet gave him pain meds and antibiotics, thankfully! He's been so miserable (see pic of him snuggling with Daddy below)

6. While shopping with my lovely Mother in Law (Christine), we came across these baby shampoo line called "Zoey" spelled the same way we'd picked for a girl name. We think it's a sign. :)

I guess that's it! I'll be back next week with hopefully the exciting news of.. girl or boy!

3 Months & COVID-19

The world is chaotic right now... just in time for little Miss Zoey Bear to turn 3 months! It's flying by. Right now she is finding her hands, munching on them, starting to hold onto things and loves to play with her soft books (mostly chew on them). Interacting with her is SO much fun and there is nothing better than to see her smile at you. Chris always melts when she smiles at him, he knows he is in for it! Right now we are in the middle of a new pandemic called COVID-19 (corona virus) and the country is being told to stay away from groups of 10 or more (some parts of the country - like New York - are told to stay indoors except for essentials). It's a strange world out there right now. Luckily, nothing much has changed over here since I am working from home and we barely were going out much anyways (with baby and all). I went to the grocery store to stock up on some food and the aisles were bare... No meats, paper goods, rice, canned goods and very little pasta among othe...

17 Weeks - Please welcome...

Please welcome... Zoey Kathleen Rojek! Yes, it's a girl!!! My gut feeling was correct. Everyone is thrilled. We did a wonderful dinner at Chima with the Rojek family. The lovely, babcia (she requests this as her nickname for her great grandbaby) is down here to stay! My mother-in -law picked out Grandma for her nickname. Me? Just call me Mom. Wow, that's so strange to say. I'll have to get used to that one. Grandma (MIL Christine) set up a wonderful reveal with a box and a balloon and a cute little poem to say: Our Little Miracle Precious baby Tiny Treasure  You bring to us Joy beyond measure.  We stroke your cheek, Feel your face And pull you into A loving embrace. You laugh outloud And giggle a while You bring to our faces Grins and Smiles. You shed a tear We wipe it away And thank Jesus for you Every day. What a blessing You have been You changed our life And made it begin. It was so sweet and reading it over...

First Month!

So much has happened. I'm a slacker but I have good reason! Taking care of a newborn is no joke! Zoey is honestly a very good baby... sleeps and doesn't cry much... until 4 weeks hit and she found her voice! :) We are now in week 4 going on 5 and she's much fussier but still CUTE as ever. She got back to birth weight pretty darn quick. She's had a stuffy nose for quite awhile now. She's had her first professional photos taken by JC Penney portrait studio. She is now lifting her head up during tummy time and can follow objects and sounds by turning her head. She loves to make cute grunting noises all the time, especially when burping her. She has a cute little fro that stands up even more after having a bath. Here is the link to all the photos and videos I've taken of her -  https://photos.app.goo.gl/73SxvMb8QJcENV1Q7 this link will also be updated with future photos and videos. I've attached a few of my favorites from this past month below: ...
