22 Weeks - Baby Shower & CT visit!

This past week was wonderful, I got to see so many of my loved ones. The trip to CT was long but fun. We listened to an audio-book of the next "book club" pick, "The Great Alone" by Kristin Hannah. We listened to half on the way to CT and the other half on the way back home. It was an epic story that made me tear up quite a few times. But... you aren't here about books!

Baby Zoey! She was celebrated like crazy the day after we arrived in Connecticut. It was quite a whirlwind and overwhelming to say the least. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family AND just as wonderful extended family now!! My Aunt Debbie, Mother-in-law, Aunt Diane and even my girls (Marsha and Arianna) helped out to make it a wonderful event. I'll post a bunch of pictures that had been sent to me (maybe more to come in a future post because I believe there are more floating out there).

The rest of the trip went really well, just not enough time to fit everyone in. I wish I could have spent time with everyone but I definitely had some much needed TLC from friends and family. I wish Chris could have came but we'll have to work on that for next time we visit (hopefully, in May).

17 Weeks - Please welcome...

Please welcome... Zoey Kathleen Rojek! Yes, it's a girl!!! My gut feeling was correct. Everyone is thrilled. We did a wonderful dinner at Chima with the Rojek family. The lovely, babcia (she requests this as her nickname for her great grandbaby) is down here to stay! My mother-in -law picked out Grandma for her nickname. Me? Just call me Mom. Wow, that's so strange to say. I'll have to get used to that one. Grandma (MIL Christine) set up a wonderful reveal with a box and a balloon and a cute little poem to say: Our Little Miracle Precious baby Tiny Treasure  You bring to us Joy beyond measure.  We stroke your cheek, Feel your face And pull you into A loving embrace. You laugh outloud And giggle a while You bring to our faces Grins and Smiles. You shed a tear We wipe it away And thank Jesus for you Every day. What a blessing You have been You changed our life And made it begin. It was so sweet and reading it over...

3 Months & COVID-19

The world is chaotic right now... just in time for little Miss Zoey Bear to turn 3 months! It's flying by. Right now she is finding her hands, munching on them, starting to hold onto things and loves to play with her soft books (mostly chew on them). Interacting with her is SO much fun and there is nothing better than to see her smile at you. Chris always melts when she smiles at him, he knows he is in for it! Right now we are in the middle of a new pandemic called COVID-19 (corona virus) and the country is being told to stay away from groups of 10 or more (some parts of the country - like New York - are told to stay indoors except for essentials). It's a strange world out there right now. Luckily, nothing much has changed over here since I am working from home and we barely were going out much anyways (with baby and all). I went to the grocery store to stock up on some food and the aisles were bare... No meats, paper goods, rice, canned goods and very little pasta among othe...

Mother's Day & My Birthday

I woke the morning of my birthday, May 12th (ironically also Mother's Day) around 3 am and passed a blood clot the size of my palm. I was 100% sure I'd had a miscarriage. I went back to sleep and when I woke, I spoke with Chris and we both decided we should go to the ER. Long story short... A small miracle but the baby was in there and doing fine. Heartbeat and all! ❤️ Best birthday/mother's day gift.
